Three Escaped Prisoners Arrested in Sankhuwasabha

Kimathanka: Police have arrested three prisoners who escaped from Nakkhu and Jhumka prisons during the Gen-G protest.

According to Police Inspector Ram Kumar Lamichhane, 41-year-old Narayan Rai of Chainpur Municipality-10, who had been serving a sentence in Nakkhu Prison on a theft charge, was arrested from his residence in Chainpur-10 on Monday.

Similarly, police arrested Subhash Tamang (31) of Chainpur-9 and Gombu Sherpa (57) of Chichila-2, both convicted in rape cases, who had fled from Jhumka Regional Prison in Sunsari.

District Jail Chief Rajan Ghimire informed that preparations are underway to transfer the three prisoners to Jhumka Regional Jail on Wednesday. Currently, Khandbari District Jail holds 131 male, eight female prisoners, and two dependent children.
